Used at concentrations of 5% it forms stable emulsions (the addition of a gelifying agent is necessary). Plurol® Stearique WL 1009 can emulsify an oil phase of up to 20%. It is particularly well-suited for the emulsification of vegetable oils (up to 15%) or short chain/medium polarity fatty acid esters; it performs well with other fatty acid esters, silicone oils, mineral oils and their substitutes.
